Sukoharjo — A total of 295 freshmen from the Digital Business and Sharia Accounting Study Programs at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, participated in a Studium Generale featuring Mohammad Mufid, Head of the Solo Office of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as the keynote speaker. The event was held at the SBSN Building of UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Carrying the theme “Economic, Financial, and Business Transformation in the Digital Era: Building an Innovative, Adaptive, and Sustainable Professional Generation,” the Studium Generale provided students with valuable insights into the rapidly changing landscape of the digital economy, financial services, and business.

In his presentation, Mohammad Mufid emphasized the importance of digital and financial literacy for young people, particularly university students who will soon enter the professional and entrepreneurial world. According to him, digital transformation creates enormous opportunities for innovation, while simultaneously requiring strong awareness of risks, digital security, and responsible financial decision-making.

“The younger generation must be able to adapt to technological developments. Digitalization creates many opportunities, but these opportunities must be accompanied by literacy, prudence, and a strong understanding of risk,” said Mohammad Mufid during the session.

The presentation also explored changes in consumer behavior, financial services, and business practices in the digital era. Students were encouraged not merely to become technology users, but to develop themselves as professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators capable of creating value through productive, responsible, and sustainable use of technology.

The Studium Generale was moderated by Asep Maulana Rohimat, Head of the Digital Business Study Program at FEBI UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta. As moderator, Asep facilitated the discussion by connecting digital transformation with developments in the financial services industry and the competencies required by today's professional world.

“Students of Digital Business and Sharia Accounting need to understand digital transformation not merely as technological development, but as a fundamental shift in business models, financial systems, consumer behavior, and professional competencies,” said Asep.

He further highlighted that the involvement of OJK in the Studium Generale provided students with a practical perspective, enabling them to connect their academic learning with developments in the industry and the regulatory landscape of the financial services sector.

The event was also attended by Vice Dean I of FEBI, Dr. Arif Muanas, M.Sc., Head of the Sharia Accounting Study Program, Fitri Laila Wijayati, Secretary of the Sharia Accounting Study Program, Wahyu Pramesti, and Secretary of the Digital Business Study Program, Puspa Novitasari.

The participation of faculty leaders and study program administrators reflected FEBI UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta's commitment to providing students with strong academic and professional foundations from the beginning of their university journey.

The Studium Generale is expected to serve as an important starting point for the 295 freshmen to develop a broader understanding of the transformation taking place across the economy, financial sector, and digital business environment. Beyond academic competence, students are expected to develop adaptability, innovation, financial literacy, digital risk awareness, and a strong commitment to sustainability.

Through continued collaboration between higher education institutions and OJK, FEBI UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta is strengthening its commitment to preparing a new generation of professionals who are not only digitally literate, but also competent, ethical, adaptive, and ready to navigate the increasingly dynamic transformation of the global economy and business landscape.
