UNIMAS Malaysia Expert Reviews UIN Digital Business Curriculum, Calls for Stronger MSME Digital Marketing Practice

Sukoharjo, Indonesia –(6/29/2026) The Digital Business Study Program of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, successfully organized an academic forum entitled "Curriculum Review: Islamic Economics Discourses for Business School Programs", featuring international insights to enhance the quality and relevance of its curriculum.

The event welcomed Dr. Nur Zaimah Binti Ubaidillah, Deputy Dean (Industry & Community Engagement), Faculty of Economics and Business, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Malaysia, as the main reviewer and international academic expert. During the session, she emphasized the importance of strengthening practical learning experiences for Digital Business students to better prepare them for industry challenges and community engagement.

Dr. Nur Zaimah highlighted that practical activities should be given greater emphasis, particularly through digital marketing assistance programs for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and local market traders. According to her, such initiatives not only enhance students' professional competencies but also contribute to community economic development through digital transformation.

Commitment to Ethical Digital Business
Meanwhile, Asep Maulana Rohimat, Head of the Digital Business Study Program, reaffirmed the program's scientific vision: to excel in the development of ethical, adaptive, and innovative Digital Business knowledge for sustainable development in realizing an advanced and civilized Indonesian society at the global level.

He explained that the program's commitment to ethical digital business is intended to produce graduates who are professional, competent, and possess strong moral values and attitudes in developing sustainable business ecosystems. The integration of ethics, innovation, and adaptability has become a distinctive characteristic of the Digital Business Program in responding to contemporary global challenges.

"The focus on ethical digital business ensures that our graduates are not only technologically capable and business-oriented but also equipped with integrity and social responsibility to build sustainable enterprises," Asep stated during the discussion.

The curriculum review session concluded with the signing of the official curriculum review document, marking a shared commitment to continuous academic improvement and international collaboration. The ceremony was also attended by Prof. Dr. M. Rahmawan Arifin, M.Si., Dean of FEBI UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, and Puspa Novita Sari, M.M., Secretary of the Digital Business Study Program.

This collaborative initiative reflects FEBI's commitment to developing internationally benchmarked curricula that integrate Islamic economic values, ethical business practices, innovation, and community engagement, preparing future graduates to become globally competitive and socially responsible digital business leaders.
